V-LINC Mission

V-LINC's mission is to help people with disabilities fulfill their potential for a productive, independent life through the use of assistive technology, at school, in the workplace, at home, and in the community.

V-LINC Values

Community: V-LINC is part of the disability community and the fabric of Maryland.

Inclusion: V-LINC is progressive in its approach to inclusion.

Innovation: V-LINC values quality innovation to improve lives.

V-LINC Services

Custom Assistive Technology: Utilizing the services of approximately 100 volunteer engineers and health care professionals, V-LINC operates the only dedicated custom AT program in the US.  Through this program we also partner with eleven high school, community college, and university engineering programs to create custom tools for our clients as part of their engineering curriculum.  Partners include the US Naval Academy, UMBC, and the Johns Hopkins University Engineering Club.

Summer Camp: V-LINC operates the first inclusive summer camp in the state of Maryland.  This year, we are expanding our programs to provide mentoring for our older campers with disabilities by adults with disabilities who have forged successful career paths.

NEW Education Programs: We are in the process of developing an innovative education program employing people with disabilities to teach an array of disability advocacy 1and technology based classes.  Therefore, the program operates as an employment option for people with disabilities AND a program to support the disability community with educational offerings. These programs are targeted at two potential customers:

1- Corporate: Education programs will center around workplace and web accessibility, inclusive hiring, and diversity.  We are in process of market testing these offerings in several corporate settings.

2- Disability providers/individuals with disabilities: Education programs center around self-advocacy, online safety, and marketing small businesses online.  These will be tested this summer.
