How can Assistive Technology help your clients?

If you serve anyone with a disability, whether it be age-related, temporary or permanent, your client already uses assistive technology -- a cane or walker, a special mouse to access her computer, a program that makes it easier to see text on his monitor, or some other aid to daily living. Today there are an increasing number of tools (assistive technologies) to help accomplish most tasks and to enjoy many recreation opportunities.

If your clients have educational or employment goals or just need a way to adjust to a disability, V-LINC can help.

Maybe you have heard of some of the neat new technologies and assistive devices on the market, but are unsure if they would be helpful with your clients or if it would be best in a particular situation. Instead of paying for an expensive device hoping that it will work, save time and money for you and your clients by working with V-LINC to determine if that expensive piece of technology IS the best solution, or if there is an easier, cheaper or more effective method or device out there. If the technology doesn’t work for your client, our volunteer engineers might be able to build a customized solution that does.

Referring your clients to us is very easy and we have a number of ways that you can do so.

Fee for Service Agreements – For Large Organizations

Our most comprehensive method of services for your organization would be a fee for service agreement, much like our Services for State DORS clients. A contract with V-LINC will include an agreed upon, fair hourly fee for a customized range of services (such as Assessments, Training and Technical Support, Setup and Configuration, etc.). Once the agreement is in place, V-LINC will create a standardized referral form for your company, accept purchase orders and provide follow-up reports to your staff.

Organizational Memberships – For Large/Medium-Sized Organizations

For organizations with more limited needs, Organizational Memberships may be more beneficial. Your organization can purchase “blocks” of memberships at a reduced rate then provide these memberships to your clientele or employees who will have access to the full range of membership benefits, as outlined on our Membership page.

Individual referrals to V-LINC for memberships or other services are easy.

V-LINC has an online application or your client can call our office for a paper based application. V-LINC accepts purchase orders from all valid organizations within Maryland and we accept third party payment for both memberships and training.
