V-LINC works closely with the Maryland Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) and provides several services to DORS consumers throughout Maryland. We have a proven track record of supplying timely services which averages 1-2 weeks from time of referral to a scheduled appointment with a detailed comprehensive report provided 2-4 days post service completion.

DORS Consumers

If you are a DORS consumer you are eligible to receive many of the services included on our Services page plus a few additional ones (see below). Your need and potential fees for these services would be determined through your DORS counselor. If you are interested in learning about how you might use some of these services, please contact your DORS counselor.

  • Assistive Technology (AT) Assessment for DORS consumers: A modified form of the Assistive Technology Consultations listed on our services page. It includes an in-depth, comprehensive assessment of your needs on the job, within an educational setting and/or your independent living goals. Our Assistive Technology Specialist will draft a detailed report outlining items explored during the evaluation, what items were beneficial to you, and where to acquire any recommended items and training.
  • Individualized Training
  • Technical Support: From Virus', Malware, hardware issues or Assistive Technology applications not functioning correctly, V-LINC can assist in resolving all of your consumers' computer issues.
  • Customized Assistive Technology Services
  • Computer Center Leases: V-LINC leases refurbished computer systems to Maryland Department of Rehabilitation Services consumers. DORS Caseworkers may lease systems for their clients.
    • The lease requires a deposit and monthly fee.
    • We do not lease laptops nor flat-screen monitors.
    • The computers come with all peripherals (keyboard, mouse, printer and cables) and are Internet-ready.
    • If equipment needs repair, we will take the computer back for repair or replacement.
    • You are responsible for purchasing ink cartridge replacements for printers and for ordering any Internet connections (E.g. Dial-up or DSL) and all related Internet costs.
    • You or your DORS caseworker arrange for the pick up and return of equipment.  Unfortunately we are unable to provide transportation for clients or computer systems.
